European Leaders Decry US Action as ‘Coercion’
Officials from Europe including the French president charged Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, after the travel bans targeted figures that were central to efforts to introduce laws governing American tech companies.
“For too long, ideologues in Europe have spearheaded coordinated campaigns to coerce US companies to suppress American viewpoints they oppose,” stated the US secretary of state online. “The current administration will no longer tolerate such actions of extraterritorial censorship.”

Germany, Spain, the UK and a chorus of EU officials supported France in condemning the decision.
